A fully remote position.
Nothing that starts under $50k/yr USD.
A flexible employer.
A company that provides more than the bare minimum of PTO.
A company that does not call "sick days" and "PTO" the same thing.
A company that does not make employees burn their own PTO for holidays on which the company is closed.
A lack of, "The customer is always right", as customers, being human, are sometimes wrong.
A company that has the back of its employees.
Management that is involved and does not expect employees to pick up the slack without also assisting.
A company that puts employee wellness (physical and mental) before the customer.
Low turnover. High turnover is a red flag and experience has taught me always means poor management.
A company that provides full health and dental benefits.
A company that provides a 401k. Stock options are nice, but not required.
Non-siloed departments.
Agile that is actually agile.
Project managers who actually listen to input from their developers and QA teams. "Release what you have," should be grounds for the project manager being released from employment.
A company that does not require punching in and out for things like bathroom breaks.
A company that does not make employees have to solve user issues under strict time tables.
A company that trusts its employees enough to not install keyloggers and screen recording software. Treating employees like criminals is bad for morale and increases turnover.
